For this session, I had an entire stack of post-its in my pencil case. So I thought that it might be good if I wrote down words that jumped out to me from the poem and the interview with Annaliza Bakri (refer to Session #1).
Afterwards, I played around with the physical sensations for each of these words and if they triggered any response (if any) in my body.
As I was writing, I realised that the act of deconstructing the poem into smaller elements was an interesting concept. We tend to overlook the importance of deconstruction, as it is as equally important as construction.
As I continued to research more into deconstruction, I found out that it is a "method of critical analysis of philosophical and literary language which emphasizes the internal workings of language and conceptual systems, the relational quality of meaning and the assumptions implicit in forms of expression". This blew my mind because it means that from a literary POV, the act of deconstruction looks at how an author can imply things he/she does not mean!
My brain was already pretty exhausted by this point so have decided to stop for the day. BUT! Here are some websites/articles which stood out for me. They might prove useful later on...
